A NEW discount store which has opened in South Yorkshire has provided a charity breakfast club with a welcome cash boost.
UGO, which has a new shop in Lundwood, Barnsley, provided £100 to Age Concern’s Feel Good Breakfast Club which has launched nearby.
The charity needed £50 to cover the project’s initial food costs, which was doubled by Arthur Harris, chief executive officer of the retail group which runs the chain.
He also provided the club with a staff discount card to use in store.
Arthur said: “When we heard what Age Concern was doing for the local area we were delighted to help.
“We always aim to become part of the community in which we operate and hopefully this can be the start of a long term relationship for UGO and Age Concern.”
