Sign up for charity walk

WALKERS are being urged to sign up for an annual fundraising ramble raising money for a city sight charity.

The Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind has organised its second Walk for Sight event to be held on Sunday, July 3, at Chatsworth House.

Fundraiser Jane Furness said: “Anyone can join the walk and we welcome new supporters. This is a great family day out and Chatsworth have been kind enough to offer our participants a reduced rate entry to the garden and free parking. There is also a Porsche Pageant that day, so people can make it a real day out.”

Walkers have a choice of an easygoing three-and-a-half-mile route or a more challenging eight-mile outing. The day will be rounded off with a hot drink and roast pork sandwich served in the stable yard accompanied by songs from Sheffield folk singer Charlie Barker.
