Sheffcare, which runs 11 residential homes for the elderly across the city, has taken part in a University of Sheffield project which has seen dementia patients trying out games such as Solitaire on iPads.

The research found more then 90 per cent reported enjoyed playing their game.

Sheffcare chief executive Belinda Black said: “21st century technologies can be used and enjoyed by people of all ages.”
