When it comes to his charity work, Doncaster-born One Direction star Louis Tomlinson likes to keep it in the family.

So he has enlisted the help of a relative to raise cash for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, of which he is a patron, in this year’s Sheffield Half Marathon.

Social worker Sally Deakin – sister of Louis’ mum’s fiancé Dan Deakin – has signed up for the event on April 6.

The 29-year-old, from Bessacarr, Doncaster, said: “I’m passionate about children and young people and became aware of the fabulous service Bluebell Wood provides to children and their families when Louis became a patron.

“To be able to support them and make a difference through this run is incredible and will spur me on.

“This will also be an amazing achievement for me personally and I would encourage anyone thinking about running the race to get out there and do it for Bluebell Wood.”

Gail Parkin, fundraiser at Bluebell Wood, said: “I’d like to thank Sally for taking part.”
