Recognition for hearing scheme

SUPPORT measures put in place at a Sheffield care home to help elderly residents with hearing loss have been highlighted by a national charity.

In a report, Action on Hearing Loss has held up the work at Norton Lees Hall, on Warminster Road, as ‘an example of good practice’.

At the home, ‘hearing ambassadors’ look for signs that residents have hearing loss, and refer them for tests if problems are suspected.

Background noise is minimised and systems are installed in communal lounges for hearing aid users.
