A weightlifting competition will help pump some cash into a brain cancer charity’s coffers.
Students in Sheffield have organised the contest as part of a full week of activities for Brainstrust from Monday, February 24, which is also the charity’s fundraising initiative Teafest.
Members of society charity wing Synapse – made up of medical students from The University of Sheffield – will be urging people to lift 1,658lbs at the S10 gym as 1658 is the year when tea first arrived in England.
A bake sale, coffee tasting and pub quiz will also be organised by students and residents across the county for Teafest to help hundreds of people with brain tumours.
