We’ve had the Tramlines festival – and now it’s time for Pramlines.

John Burkhill, known as Sheffield’s Mad Man with the Pram for completing long walks for cancer charity Macmillan while dressed in a green comedy wig and pushing a pram, is setting off on another trek tomorrow.

John – who has humorously called the jaunt ‘Pramlines’ – will be walking from Winn Gardens in Middlewood to South Road, Walkley, calling at a series of events being held as part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign.

Leppings Lane Area Residents’ Group will be attending a coffee morning at the Riverside café on Catch Bar Lane, and the Sutton Estate Residents’ Group will be staging their own event in the community centre on Dunella Road.

Brightside and Hillsborough MP David Blunkett is attending a coffee morning in Hillsborough Library, while Sheffield Central MP Paul Blomfield will be awaiting John’s arrival at Our Gert’s Café in Walkley.

Meanwhile, tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits are being served up today to visitors at the Roman Ridge Extra Care development in Wincobank from 10.30am to noon.
