health bosses thanked patients for their support during last week’s doctors’ strike.

Brian James, chief executive of Rotherham Hospital, said: “Staff pulled out all the stops to ensure the impact of the industrial action on our patients was kept to a minimum.

“We continued to provide all emergency services to patients and to deliver the best care possible for the people of Rotherham.

“We saw a reduced number of people attend A&E and are grateful to the public for making an informed choice about their care.”
