A new £2 million unit for stroke patients in South Yorkshire is set to be officially opened next week.
The ward, at Kendray Hospital, Barnsley, will offer rehabilitation for people recovering from strokes.
A dedicated team will be on hand to help patients, and each of the unit’s 16 bedrooms are fitted with overhead hoists and en-suite bathrooms.
The unveiling will be carried out by the Mayor of Barnsley, Coun Ken Richardson, accompanied by his wife, Nadia.
The stroke unit recently relocated from Mount Vernon Hospital.
