New appeal for donors

Have your say

YOUNG Muslims are giving blood donations in Sheffield during their holy month as part of a national campaign.

The campaign is run by the Islamic Unity Society, an organisation for Muslim students and young professionals, and is intended to inspire members to give blood in the month of Muharram.

A session is place on Friday, November 30, at the donor centre on Church Street from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Last year hundreds of people from the Muslim community donated across the country and this year the aim is to boost the number of donations even further.

Rare blood groups are often more common within certain ethnic groups.

The National Imam Hussain Blood Donation Campaign was launched in 2006.
