A South Yorkshire MP is backing a campaign to give all babies a vaccine for meningitis B.

Sarah Champion, the MP for Rotherham, offered her support after meeting families affected by the deadly disease.

The charity Meningitis Now is calling on the government to make the vaccine available for free on the NHS.

“The lives of many families in my own constituency have been turned upside down by this disease,” said Ms Champion.

Meningitis B accounts for half of all cases of bacterial meningitis in the UK.
