HOSPITAL patients will be visited by their local MP when he calls in to ask their views about NHS reforms.
Labour Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis is visiting Barnsley Hospital tomorrow for the final leg of his Care at Christmas campaign.
Mr Jarvis said: “Winter is a particularly difficult time for the hospital and this winter it will be even harder. I am looking forward to visiting the hospital and talking to the staff there to see how they feel about Government reforms.”
He added: “I will also be talking to families for whom Christmas will be a time spent on hospital wards with loved ones who are too ill to be discharged home.”
During the visit Mr Jarvis will visit ward 19, which is a specialist ward to treat patients suffering dementia and other elderly people.
He will be helping staff on the lunch round before heading to the children’s ward.
The event is one of a series of visits Mr Jarvis has made to see ‘heroes’ within his constituency who devote their time to caring for others in the weeks leading up to the Christmas period.
