A Sheffield charity is to launch a series of community fitness sessions after securing a £10,000 Lottery grant.
Sheffield City Trust is teaming up with Gleadless Valley Community Forum to subsidise weekly swimming and gym sessions at Heeley Swimming Pool.
The 12 month programme is aimed at people of all ages living in Gleadless Valley, Low Edges and Jordanthorpe.
Transport to and from the baths is also available for those wanting to get involved.
The pool complex has recently been expanded and it now has a Fitness Unlimited gym with the very latest equipment.
Kim Hinchcliffe, a health trainer at the community forum, said: “We’re very grateful to Sheffield City Trust for their support. Heeley is a really relaxed and friendly community leisure venue and a great place to run our fitness sessions.
“Everyone has really enjoyed the swimming and gym workouts and many have said on how much better they feel. It’s a really positive project.”
