An annual service of celebration and remembrance returns to Sheffield Cathedral next month.
The St Luke’s Hospice service is on December 13 from 2pm, with music from Ecclesall Infant School Choir, Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus and Stannington Brass Band.
Tea lights will be available for everybody attending. They will be lit during the service before the cathedral lights are dimmed for a moment of reflection.
Remembrance cards will be collected at the service and placed in a ‘memory box’ at the hospice later in the evening.
“For many people, Christmas is a time of immense happiness but also tinged with sadness as they remember relatives and friends who have been part of past celebrations,” said St Luke’s senior chaplain, Rev Captain Mike Reeder.
