blood donors in Bawtry are being urged to keep their appointments at sessions tomorrow.
NHS Blood and Transplant say there has been an increase in donors not turning up for their appointments, and bosses are asking those who have booked a slot to keep it, or if they can’t attend then let them know so the appointment can be freed up for someone else.
Over the summer blood stocks can dip due to people not turning up for appointments or going away on holiday. Tomorrow’s sessions are at the New Hall, Station Road, from 1pm to 3.30pm, and 4.30pm to 7.15pm.
Spokeswoman Holly Mason said: “We need to collect 1,046 units of blood every day in South Yorkshire, so if people can’t keep their appointment then we need to offer it up to someone else.”
