Therapy radiographers from Sheffield hospitals have landed a prestigious prize in recognition of their commitment to improving the patient experience.
The Sheffield Teaching Hospitals group will be named the Society of Radiographers’ Yorkshire and North Trent team of the year at a ceremony at the House of Commons in November.
Moira Tomlinson, Weston Park Hospital radiation services senior manager, who nominated the team, said: “The team forms the radiotherapy part of the National Stereotactic Radiosurgery Service, treating a variety of neurosurgical conditions including brain cancers and benign tumours.
“Working extended days allows more patients to be treated from across the UK and Europe.”
The radiographers provide pre-treatment assessment and counselling.
Team member Joanne Rodgers said: “We are honoured to receive this award and are pleased our ongoing efforts to improve the patient experience have been acknowledged.
“We are encouraged to continue our work, further developing the quality of the service.”
