An orthopaedic team from the Northern General Hospital is donating the profits from a staff musical evening to the hospital’s Helipad Appeal.

The group has organised a musical evening with the band Mill Stone Grit and money raised will help with a campaign to build a new helipad at the Northern General Hospital.

The new helipad would reduce the length of time it takes for patients to reach accident and emergency.

Those flown to hospital now have to be transferred into an ambulance to be driven to the A&E unit, but the new helipad would be closer to the doors.

Orthopaedic Consultant, Mark Davies, who is a member of the band Mill Stone Grit said: “This seems a perfect opportunity to get together for some fun and, at the same time, help raise money for a valuable asset to the Trust’s emergency care provision.”
