Health data inquiry is set to continue

An inquiry into controversial proposals to share patients’ medical records is set to continue in Sheffield next month.

The ‘select committee inquiry’ involves patients and health professionals, as well as data and ethics experts, debating the pros and cons of sharing information across the health and social care system.

Dr Charles Heatley, committee chairman, said the inquiry will recommend changes needed to address concerns over safety and confidentiality when it meets again in May.
