CHESTERFIELD health boss Andrew Jones has been named president of a prestigious national organisation.

Mr Jones, who, as a director of allied clinical and facilities services, is responsible for running facilities at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, has been named president of the Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals.

He said “It is a great honour to be asked to take up this role.

“A professional healthcare cleaning service is essential both in improving patient care and providing safer infection control.

“I intend to focus on expanding the critical task of raising the profile of professional healthcare cleaning. I will be aiming to strengthen existing relationships with infection control and the Royal College of Nursing, on delivering strategy and inspiring the membership.”
