RESIDENTS across Sheffield are being encouraged to look after their smiles as part of a national awareness campaign which runs all month.
Pharmacies and primary care trust NHS Sheffield are supporting the Smile Factor, launched as part of National Smile Month.
Oral Health Action Teams across the city have been working with individuals, community groups, schools and nurseries, pharmacies and health professionals to improve oral health and help people find an NHS dentist.
Pharmacies will also be giving out oral health goody bags, containing a free toothbrush and toothpaste.
Kate Jones, director of dental public health at NHS Sheffield, said: “Your smile is one of the first things someone will notice about you. Unfortunately, many people don’t feel able to smile with confidence because of problems with their teeth.”
