Hand washing warning over farmyard Easter visits

Families taking their children on South Yorkshire farm visits during Easter are being reminded to ensure children wash their hands to prevent infection spreading.

“Anyone visiting a petting farm should be aware of the need to wash their hands thoroughly using soap and water after they have handled animals. Children are more at risk of serious illness and should be closely supervised,” said Dr Stephen Morton, Director of Public Health England, Yorkshire and Humber Centre.
