Grant to fund city research

A RESEARCH programme in Sheffield developing new drugs for a currently incurable form of cancer is underway thanks to a £1.1 million grant.

The cash has been awarded by the charity Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research to fund the research into myeloma - a cancer of the white blood cells which causes bone marrow and renal failure as well as bine disease.

Scientists at the University of Sheffield’s Medical School and Department of Biomedical Sciences is carrying out the research.
