YOUNG hospital patients are being given more dignity during their time on children’s wards thanks to a new gown designed by a clothing firm.
Fashion At Work, based in Barlborough, Chesterfield, has made a new ‘dignity-giving suit’ which replaces the traditional, backless hospital clothing.
The garment has been trialled among patients in Birmingham - and Bev Ward, the company’s managing director, said feedback was positive.
“This has been an incredibly exciting and challenging project to work on for us,” said Bev.
“We hope that we can revolutionise the way patients and practitioners look at clinical wear.”
The gown comes in eight sizes to fit babies up to older teens, and is joined together by fasteners. The design is currently being adapted for adults and will be showcased to hospitals across the country later this year.
