Young burns victims in Sheffield are being treated to two special parties to lift their spirits in the run-up to Christmas.

Sheffield Children’s Hospital is inviting all burns patients over the age of eight for a morning of ten-pin bowling at Hollywood Bowl in Valley Centertainment today.

Meanwhile, patients aged under eight can attend a festive party on December 8 at Ponds Forge, where entertainer Lucy Lost-It will be putting on a show of magic tricks and balloon modelling.

The events are run by the children’s hospital’s burns club, which supports children and families affected by burns injuries.

Kathryn Topham, a hospital play specialist, said: “We’re thrilled to be putting on these events for young people from all walks of life. It should be a fantastic fun celebration where they can interact with one another and enjoy great entertainment.”
