TRAINEE surgeons and junior doctors from across the country are heading to Doncaster Royal Infirmary to develop their technique on a special course.

The Doncaster Intermediate Surgical Skills course is open to all surgeons in training and junior doctors and will provide them with one-to-one tuition from consultants and registrar trainers in a wide range of skills.

As well as learning new tricks and refining their technique, delegates will also receive constructive and helpful feedback that builds on basic surgical training and is suitable for all surgical specialties.

Consultant vascular surgeon Nandan Haldipur, one of the course organisers, said: “The Doncaster Intermediate Surgical Skills day will provide junior doctors and surgical trainees in all specialties with in-depth, one-on-one tuition on practical skills from experienced surgeons in a supportive and constructive environment.

“We have had positive feedback from previous delegates and the course has also been reviewed in BMJ Careers.”

The one-day course takes place in the Board Room at DRI from 8am to 5pm on Saturday, June 16.
