A DEVOTED grandson is set to pound the streets raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society after his grandfather was diagnosed with the disease.

David Beech is taking part in the Manchester 10km run on May 15 in honour of his grandad Derek McDonald who has lived with the condition for two years.

David, aged 25, of Wadsley Bridge, has set up a website about Alzheimer’s, to provide an online resource for relatives and carers, with information

David, a British Gas technical engineer, wants to raise as much money as possible from the run for the charity.
