edlington Town Council has donated £100 towards the refurbishment of the Family Room on Ward G5 at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Ward staff wrote to the council asking if it would consider the cause when considering what donations to make this year. The letter explained what staff are doing and the town’s Mayor, Coun Maureen Patterson, received unanimous support from the council.

The Family Room is in need of refurbishment to enable families of patients to have a more comfortable stay when visiting.

By fundraising, the staff aim to upgrade the bathroom, provide a kitchen area, redecorate and provide more comfortable seating.
