Sheffield GPs are backing a national campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer symptoms among women aged over 70, who account for a third of all cases.

Dr Marion Sloan, of NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group’s governing body, said signs other than a lump include pain in the breast or armpit.

“You’re not wasting anyone’s time by getting checked out,” she added.
