British children who received pioneering cancer treatment in America are to have a reunion in Chesterfield.

Kids ‘n’ Cancer UK is co-ordinating the meeting of about 50 youngsters who received proton therapy treatment in America.

They will be joined by doctors from the US next month, who will meet NHS officials to discuss the benefits of proton therapy.

Kids ‘n’ Cancer was set up by Chesterfield couple Mike and June Hyman in 2010, after Mike became chairman of a fundraising activity for a boy who needed life-saving treatment.
