A GROUP of family doctors who will take control of the city’s £700 million NHS budget next year are holding a public meeting to explain the changes.

The Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group, made up of GPs, lay advisors and one nurse, will replace the city’s Primary Care Trust next April in line with the Government’s sweeping health reforms.

They have invited residents to a public meeting at Sheffield Cathedral on Thursday, September 13, from 2pm to 4pm.

Group chair Dr Tim Moorhead said: “As doctors, we speak to Sheffield people on a day-to-day basis and have first-hand experience of what issues are important to them.” Call Sophie Jones on 0114 305 1089 to register for a place.
