What a bra-vellous idea!

A Doncaster shopping precinct will be supporting the most unusual bunting later this month.

The & She Knows lingerie and swimwear boutique in The Courtyard, Bawtry, has come up with a unique way to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month - by stringing the unwanted bras of local ladies along the picturesque cobbled pedestrian yard.

The joint owners of the shop, Emily Harbon and Sarah Craven, hope their cups will runneth over as they start collecting unwanted bras of all shapes, colours, sizes and conditions during October.

They hope to collect more than 300, and as a salute to women, will create the most unique bunting Bawtry has ever seen by stringing them along the length of The Courtyard.

“Breast cancer could affect anyone and we wanted to do something a little different to play our part in raising awareness and vital funds,” said Emily.

“All we ask is that for every bra donated, ladies also donate £1. In addition, for any bra purchased during the campaign we will donate 10 per cent to Breast Cancer Awareness.

“We hope to see a colourful spectacle along The Courtyard so dig deep in your drawers and bring any unwanted bra, not just the old and greying ones!”

During the month owners Emily and Sarah will also launch the latest addition to their brand collection, ANITA mastectomy underwear and swimwear, which they are fully qualified to professionally fit and offer help and advice.

“Underwear is a fantastic way to express femininity and we want to be able to allow ladies of all shapes and sizes to enjoy that experience,” said Sarah.

“We know we are all different and our boobs are no exception! To be able to help ladies with all their underwear and swimwear needs is a privilege.”

The Bra-Bunting will be hoisted at a special event on Thursday, October 25, and afterwards all donations will be taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary who work with charities to ensure the bras are appropriately recycled.

& She Knows is the latest addition to a wide range of individual and exclusive businesses in Bawtry.
