SHOPPERS at a supermarket in Rotherham can experience the difficulties faced by blind people during a charity event on Friday.

Members of The Bramley and Wickersley Lions Club will be at the Morrisons store in Bramley from 11am to 3pm, where they will be inviting visitors to take part in a blindfold walk around the shop.

Participants - including Rotherham’s Mayor Dave Pickering - will be blindfolded and then asked to try to navigate the aisles.

Donations of unwanted spectacles are also being collected, in aid of World Sight Day.
