Balloon race strikes Chord

Have your say

THE name of top dementia charity Lost Chord is spreading well beyond South Yorkshire... thanks to the organisation’s summer Balloon Race.

Hundreds of balloons were launched from the Lost Chord headquarters in Maltby, and the one that travelled the furthest came back down to earth in the village of Cherry Burton near Beverley - a distance of 55 miles from the launch point.

The owner of the winning balloon was Alasdair McKell, of Spinkhill, who receives a £150 cash prize.

“All the money raised will go towards continuing Lost Chord’s programme of providing interactive musical events for people living with dementia in care homes and day centres across South Yorkshire,” said Lost Chord fundraising manager Tina Harrison.
