Sheffield Forgemasters apprentices put down their tools to test their event management skills by organising a fundraising dinner for Mencap.

The Apprentice Charity Dinner takes place at Sheffield United’s Platinum Suite at Bramall Lane on Friday, September 12, from 7pm.

The event includes a three course meal, live band Redfern, and comedian and magician Steve Faulkner.

Forgemasters’ chief executive Dr Graham Honeyman is a patron of the Sheffield Mencap charity.

The bash has been organised by apprentices Josh Johnson, Bradley McDonald, Dan Millington, Amy Fretwell, Dominic Jones, Harry Pearce-Hurst and Maxwell Goodall.

Janet Sullivan, CEO of Sheffield Mencap, said: “We provide a range of services which support children and adults with a learning disability and their family carers.

“Our vision is that all people with a learning disability and their carers in Sheffield feel valued, included and respected.

Janet added: “We believe everyone should be supported to reach their full potential.”
