Ambulance charity volunteers are offering free lifesaving skills lessons in South Yorkshire.

The lessons, run by St John Ambulance, are taking place throughout this month as part of its Save a Life September first aid drive.

Topics covered will include dealing with a child choking to placing someone in the recovery position.

Complimentary pocket-sized first aid guides will also be given out.

Sessions are happening this Sunday from 11am to 4pm at Catcliffe Boundary Mill, and next Sunday, September 21, from 1pm to 4pm at Bentley Park in Doncaster.

A further event takes place on September 30 from 7pm to 8pm at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium.

Simon Dunn, St John Ambulance regional director, said: ‘Learning first aid is one of the single most important things you can do in your life – and it’s so easy to learn.”
