Health Play Bus visits prison

A HEALTH trust sent its children and young people’s community health service Play Bus to a Christmas family day at HMP and YOI Hatfield Open Prison to provide activities for children.

Workers from Great North Road and Stainforth Children’s Centres, and Thorne/Moorends Children’s Centre supported the Play Bus at the event, helping children of inmates to make personalised calendars and a Christmas display, which will remain at the prison as a memento of the day.

Prison staff helped provide activities including games, dance sessions and a Santa’s grotto during the session run by Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
