Health Lottery helps to pay for gardening project in city

The Sheffield General Cemetery Trust is celebrating after being awarded a grant of £9,400 to complete conservation and gardening projects.

The Trust, based on Cemetery Avenue, was awarded the funding by the People’s Health Trust, using money raised through The Health Lottery game.

Michael Steadman, of Sheffield General Cemetery Trust, said: “We are delighted to have received this funding from the People’s Health Trust which will enable us to encourage and support volunteers and the public to enjoy and care for this vital green space.”

John Hume, chief executive of the People’s Health Trust, said: “We invest in people with great ideas to create fairer places to live.”
