Woodseats residents are being asked to vote on the opening hours for the new library in the Sheffield suburb.
The branch will be based in the new Woodseats Medical Centre on Chesterfield Road.
It will boast modern facilities, new books, a separate children’s library area and new public toilets.
The new library will open for 31 hours a week and people are being asked to choose one of two timetable options, both including a Saturday and weekday evening.
People are also being asked what extra activities and services they would like to see at the library.
There are two timetables which people can vote for.
Option A hours are: Monday 12.30pm-6.30pm, Tuesday 10am-2pm, Wednesday 10am-5.30pm, Thursday closed, Friday 10am-5.30pm, Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday closed.
Option B hours are: Monday 9.30am-6.30pm, Tuesday closed, Wednesday 9.30am-5.30pm, Thursday closed, Friday 9.30am-5.30pm, Saturday 10am-4pm, Sunday closed.
Councillor Mary Lea, cabinet member for Culture, Parks and Leisure at Sheffield City Council, couldn’t wait for the facility to open its doors
“The new library is going to be great and will have fantastic facilities in a brand-new building,” Coun Lea said.
She said it was important Woodseats people put their views on the library’s opening hours forward.
“We want to shape the service so it provides what local people want, so we’re asking them to vote on the opening hours and tell us what extra services and activities they’d like to see.
“Woodseats library opens this September and we want all local people to use it.
“It will be very different to the older building where it used to be based, so come check it out and see what’s on offer.” The consultation period runs until Friday, June 23.
