Have your say on South Yorkshire police budget

Have your say

SOUTH Yorkshire’s new police and crime commissioner Shaun Wright is asking residents to have their say on how the county’s police force budget should be spent.

A budget simulator is available online to demonstrate the choices he will have to make when deciding what money to spend on what services.

Visitors are challenged to keep to the overall budget of £246 million, with any increases in spending on particular areas needing to be balanced elsewhere.

Mr Wright said: “It is more important than ever we direct resources to the areas most important to the people of South Yorkshire. I would like people to give us an indication of where they think we should spend our money by logging on to our budget simulator.”
