Have say on bid to change Sheffield city centre for the better

The first public consultation on plans to improve Sheffield city centre takes place on Wednesday.

Around 300 businesses could unite to raise £800,000 a year, money which would be spent on improvement projects, if the Business Improvement District is created.

Residents can talk to the BID champions and give their views on the idea at a meeting in the Winter Garden from 6pm to 8pm.

Ideas for improving the city centre include championing independent firms, an anti street-drinking policy and new parking measures.
