A SQUAD of future football stars is set for a warm winter thanks to a donation of woolly hats.
The Norfolk Park under-13s team, which was only created this year but already has its sights set on promotion, was given the donation by repairs and maintenance provider Kier Sheffield.
Manager Darren Wallis, a plasterer for the organisation, requested the firm’s support.
He said: “The boys were getting very chilly with no hats on during practice so I thought maybe Kier could help.
“We are very grateful for Kier’s support, and we are looking forward to continuing our winning streak despite the cold weather.”
Kier regional managing director Simon Bullen said: “As a local employer, we are always keen to support good causes in the area we work in, as well as support groups and clubs that help to promote an active lifestyle for young people.
“The football team has had some great successes over the last couple of months and we hope to see big things from them in the new year.”
