A happy way to start

HAPPY days are here again - thanks to a Rotherham theatre group.

The town’s Phoenix Players are reviving the 1940s classic comedy The Happiest Days of Your Life as their first production this season at Rotherham Civic Theatre from October 15 to 20.

The play was first performed in 1948 and then became a hit film in 1950, starring Margaret Rutherford and Alastair Sim as heads of two warring schools.

This is the second time Rotherham group has performed the play - and the new production will feature two cast members from the first performance back in 1973. For tickets call 01709 556669.
