Hanged welder ‘not suicide risk’

A WELDER found hanged in his Eckington flat was not believed to be a suicide risk, his inquest heard.

Clint Howe, aged 31, was admitted to Hartington psychiatric unit, Chesterfield, in September 2010 after an overdose, but discharged because staff believed he did not pose an immediate risk of suicide.

But days later he was found hanged at his flat in Springfield Close.

Recording a narrative verdict, coroner Nigel Anderson said: “I am satisfied Mr Howe hanged himself, but the circumstances remain unclear.”
