Hang glider dies after crashing into Mam Tor

A HANG glider died today after crashing into Mam Tor in the Peak District.

The 52-year-old, who has not yet been named, collided with the face of the is a 517 metre hill near Castleton, at 4.35pm yesterday but died in the early hours of today.

He was rushed to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, with severe injuries but died this morning.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is being carried out by Derbyshire Police on behalf of the coroner.
