Handsworth Parramore crash 5-2 in top of table clash

Handsworth Parramore had the control of the championship taken out of their hands following a 5-2 defeat at title rivals Tadcaster Albion,

The Ambers also had goalkeeper Archie Sneath controversially sent off in the first half, for denying a goal scoring opportunity for bringing down Tom Corner, who had already got his shot in which was cleared by Richard Adams.

Handsworth edged in front with Jon Froggatt’s 33rd goal of the season but a quickfire Josh Greening brace made it 2-1 to the hosts. Sneath then received his red and the first job of his replacement, outfield player Tyler Bates, was to pick Corner’s penalty out of the net that gave the hosts 3-1 cushion. Corner headed Tadcaster’s fourthbefore Greening completed his hat-trick. Simon Harrison had given Handsworth hope when his fine free-kick pulled it back to 4-2. The defeat was the first in 17 matches under interim boss Mick Godber and left Parras a point behind Tadcaster who have a game in hand.
