Hallamshire Hornets Skater Hockey Club win 33rd title in 17 years

Hallamshire Hornets Skater Hockey Club clinched the BiPHA Inline Hockey Central League title for the fourth time in five years with three wins on the final day of the season.

They beat Nottingham-based Projoy 8-0, Glossop Devils 9-2 and close rivals local based Norton Cyclones 7-4 in a dramatic last match in the series.

Norton went into the match needing to win by seven clear goals to take the title as they trailed Hornets by two points.

But Hornets triumphed with goals by Alex Pearman 2, Joey Ganley 2, Simon Hughes, Richard Walsh and Matt Childs although Norton battled brilliantly

It is Hornets’ 33rd major trophy in 17 years for Hornets. who defen their National Championship title on June 4 / 5.
