Half term holiday camps for children in Sheffield parks

Half term holiday activities for children are to be held in Sheffield parks.

Activity Sheffield, the Sheffield Council department which organises arts and crafts, sport and physical activity sessions, will host free sessions from Saturday, February 6 until Friday, February 12 at venues including Devonshire Green, Hillsborough Park, High Hazels Park, Norfolk Heritage Park, Greenhill Park and Concord Park.

Coun Sioned-Mair Richards, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: “People may not want to go outdoors at this time of year, but wrap up and you’ll have great fun in our many fantastic parks and green spaces. These activity sessions are designed to make it easy for people to get involved, get active and love the outdoors.

“Come along as a family, join in and try something new – whether it’s den building, bug hunting, traditional crafts such as basket weaving, ice skating, sports including rounders and rugby and even the traditional games I used to love, such as hopscotch and tiggy.

“There really is something for everyone.”
