HALF term activities designed to keep children out of trouble have been organised by police in Chesterfield.

Members of the Chesterfield North Safer Neighbourhood Policing Teams have planned a number of sports and games sessions to run from Monday to Friday next week.

On Monday there will be computer games, karaoke and a disco at the Eagle Club, Newbold, from 2pm to 5pm.

Between Tuesday and Friday sport sessions will run at Stand Road Park every afternoon from 2.15pm.

Dodgeball is planned for Tuesday, cheerleading, kickboxing and street dance for Wednesday, rugby for Thursday and multi-sports sessions for Friday.

To mark the end of the week a teenage disco will be held in the YMCA building, Newbold Road, between 7pm and 9pm on Friday.

Police Community Support Officer Janis Naylor helped organise the events. She said: “Being able to work with youngsters and offer them something fun to do really helps us build a rapport with them.”
