Half of food outlets tested not compliant, officers find

Have your say

More than half of Sheffield food businesses were not compliant with current regulation during recent checks, according to Trading Standards.

Officers visited 29 premises to make sure they were complying with regulations about allergens contained in food, which came into force in 2014 by the Food Standards Agency.

They found 45 per cent were not fully complying – and 10 per cent were not complying at all. Visit www.food.gov.uk/allergen-resources to find out more.
