SUPER-FIT fundraisers who completed a gruelling half marathon every month for a year raised more than £6,000 for a cancer charity.
Runner Louis Barnes, aged 32, of Meersbrook, Sheffield, set himself a year-long challenge to raise funds for Weston Park Hospital after his late mum was treated there.
Pal Alistair Hague joined in and the pair completed 11 half marathons and one 20-mile race between January and December last year.
Louis said: “Sadly mum died in March 2011. Dad spent a lot of time at Weston Park with her and always used to say how fantastic the hospital was.
“I wanted to raise money so it could continue to offer the kind of support and care my mum had.”
